Survival School is the manual for doing just that. This retreat is for you, if you're ready for something deeper—something that meets the demands of the hour we're living in.
This is a 4-day advanced retreat designed for men who are looking to go beyond initiation and dive into a life of radical discipleship.
Led by John Eldredge and his team through a series of curated video sessions, this event invites you to experience powerful teaching, guided reflections, and transformative prayer—all within the safety and camaraderie of a group of men who are seeking more.

Thursday, August 20th- Sunday, August 23rd, 2026
Arrival at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The event will end at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

Riverbend Refuge in Effie, MN. It's about a 3.5-4 hour drive from the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
If you are flying in from out of state, fly into the MSP Airport and we can arrange carpooling with other attendees.

Cost includes lodging, meals (dinner on 4/30 through lunch on 5/3, snacks/beverages) and all event materials.

There will be a variety of sleeping options available. More details to come.

There will be several sessions each day, along with self-reflection questions for your personal time. There are no assigned group discussions throughout the weekend as this time is meant to be between you and Jesus!
To allow the opportunity for self-reflection, there will be several designated time periods of mandatory silence.
The weekend will have periods of free time for adventure, refreshment, camaraderie, or whatever your soul needs. Feel free to bring anything else you may want during this time.
This event is designed to be experienced off-grid and is strongly encouraged that you unplug from phones.
